MARINE PARK

Kyra Panagia Island and Monastery

Our destination is Kyra Panagia the largest of the surrounding islands. We leave by boat and sail past the beaches and coastline of Alonissos and then head for our first stop at monastery bay on Kyra Panagia. Here we take the short walk up for our tour of the old monastery. You may then either re-join the boat for the short trip to our lunch stop in the bay of Agios Petros or join Chris on the spectacular walk from the monastery over the island to re-join the boat. Whichever way you choose to make the trip we will then have time for a swim in the crystal clear seas before our lunch is served on board. After lunch there will be time to relax before we head for the “Blue Cave” on Alonissos on our return journey.

MARINE PARK
Psathoura Island

Our destination is the remote volcanic island of Psathoura with its beautiful white sand beach, stands of sea lilies, lighthouse and sunken city. We head along the coastline of Alonissos, past the Blue Cave and then on to the island of Kyra Panagia where we will make our first swim stop in the bay of Planitis.

We then carry on to Psathoura for the main stop of the day where you can swim, relax on the beach or explore the island before lunch is served onboard. We then carry on past the rugged coastline of Gioura with it’s close views to Piperi, the tiny island of Papou with it’s deserted church and past the monastery on Kyra Panagia before heading home.

MARINE PARK
Skantzoura Island and Monastery

The rarely visited island of Skantzoura and it’s shores of white marble, and the nearby island of Polemika, are an important habitat for the rare Audouin’s Gull and the Eleonora’s Falcon. We head for the coast of Alonissos and then between the islands of Dio Adelphia and on to Skantzoura. Here we anchor in a beautiful bay where both swimming and snorkeling are a sheer delight. Those who wish to may join Chris for the short walk over the marble shores and up to the old farmhouse and ruined monastery from where the panoramic view of the Marine Park is truly spectacular.

After a refreshing swim our lunch is served on board and there is then time to relax before we begin our journey back with a further swim stop at the islands of Dio Adelphia where the swimming and snorkeling is superb.

Walking distance: 2 kms to and from monastery.

Walking sandals and shorts ok, light trousers if you wish to explore.

Snorkeling

This excursion takes you along the coasts of Alonissos and Peristera where we have found the most beautiful and interesting snorkeling areas. 
The scenery is fantastic and it is a chance to see some of the hidden beauties of the area. 
Being a passageway for merchant vessels since ancient times, this area was a haven for pirates. We have lunch at pirate’s cove and even visit two shipwrecks.

SUNSET CRUISE

Swim, dolphin watch, relax with a drink as you watch the sunset over the islands and then enjoy dinner onboard before returning home by the light of the stars.
